I just read the Book "Fight Club" and it is much better then the movie. I'm not saying the Movie is bad but it would be like saying Ice Cream and Sugar Free Ice Cream are really the same.
the thing that makes Fight Club the book better for me then the movie, is the ending. The movie felt the need (due to the rules of movie making) to have a cinematic happy ending. In the Book Tyler Durdin doesn't have what we would consider a happy ending.
But while his story may end, both fight club and project mayhem continues on.
which is why i find it a more meaningful ending.
