The Plame Game

Well Folks our evil lord and master Karl Rove has of course been fingered by
the media as the source of the knowledge of who the wife of Joe Wilson –Was-

Now before you guys get all hot and sticky for an impeachment… lets roll out
some bean footage

Did Karl Rove say “This Clandestine CIA Agent, Valerie Plame, the Husband of
Ambassador Wilson lobbied to get him sent on the fact finding trip to
Niger.”

If that’s the case… you might –might- have something.

Now what if he said “His Wife lobbied the CIA to appoint him to run this
fact finding trip.” All the reporters in DC knew she was a spy, most of the
folks in upper circles in DC know she was a spy and the reporters used that
as a background... we now have now crime.

OR

Let’s say they ask Karl Rove to confirm the fact they got from some where
else and he nodded his head….

Only in one of those scenarios is what Karl Rove a “crime” If you picked
scenario #1 you just went to the head of the class. While we have other
possible scenarios of how it happened most of them fit into these three
categories.

Now when the Plame game first started, the difficult level of proving a
criminal act was presented in the Media.

For what happened to be criminal the person revealing the information had to
know (1) that Valerie Plame was a clandestine operative. And by Know I mean
not in the way you know the guy down the road is really Elvis but have a
factual state of knowledge. (2) You had to know revealing the Identity of a
Clandestine operative is a crime. And obviously (3) you have to reveal the
identity. This is why all the talking lawyers on the news channels all said
this was difficult to prove.

But the CIA was a tad miffed over the incident, and the democrats were
screaming bloody murder during an election year which is why this was all
investigated. And the Special Counsel has already said as near as his
investigation can show –no crime- occurred. To me personally at that point
I’d let cooper and miller go… but not Mr. Fitzgerald.

And at this time the clandestine nature of Ms. Plame’s service is certainly
questionable. Her Husband was an ambassador and Presidential advisor, which
is normally the type of thing foreign intelligence services look into. And
let’s not forget her cashing in on her exposure as well… Because I mean
shoot people just knew her name… so why not plaster herself in magazines and
work on a book deal eh?

She also suggested her husband, who was going to be a political operative
for one of the Democratic candidates for president, go look into a rumor she
often derided as “stupid” and “Insane”…. Hardly the conduct of some one who
is trying to keep a low profile

And then we have Ambassador Wilson saying one thing to the news media, one
thing to the CIA, and still another thing when talking to congress about the
Niger incident. And sadly these three things are not the same and it is
debatable if they are in the same zip code. Which raises questions about did
Ms. Plame and Ambassador Wilson’s conduct violates US laws on conducting
foreign policy without the authorization of the government.

But in the end, no one it looks like will be charged with a crime or even go
to jail.

But the hate will just keep going and going
