Serenity Review

The other movie I saw was godly good, and I am posting this review now because Josh is the daddy of all true sci fi geeks.

Ok. The thing I liked best about serenity is it was made totally accessible to the Non-Firefly viewer. If you watched firefly you saw a depth and richness to the charecters that the non-viewer didn't but it was totally optional to enjoy the experience of the film.

Charecters died not because they were expendible, but because it is what the plot needs to move along.

The Hero's limp out half dead but they limp out as hero's.

The movie sets up perfectly for sequals but sequals aren't required of this movie.

It stands on its own perfectly.

You see in the crew of the serenity people using the same kind of Assymetrical tactics the former confederates used when they became rouges and ne'er do wells. In fact the only flaw i have with the whole movie is these are things -I- If i was an Alliance officer I'd have seen coming.

But i guess that is an issue of power and arrogance.

The Climactic Protagonist Vs Antagonist battle ( because neither man could truely be called a hero or a villian in a grand metaphysic of things)was choeragraphed perfectly.

I agree with Orson Scott Card.... a perfect film for Sci-Fi geeks. This is the new benchmark
