You have got to be kidding me

For all of you Ronnie Earle defenders. Forget the fact ronnie shopped grand juries till he got one that liked what he was selling. Forget the fact members of that Grand Jury have since said they were out to get delay.

With -THIS- new information I've been pushed into the "Tom Delay is being persecuted" camp. This was the last straw for me.

Believe it or not, the law was written with the intent of trying to curb vote fraud at nursing homes. It was passed on September 1, 2003, the year after the alleged money laundering scheme that Earle says DeLay participated in. In other words, there was no law on the books prior to September 1, 2003 that would have allowed Earle to prosecute DeLay for criminal conspiracy.

wait wait wait let me show you that again.

That bill, which made conspiracy to violate state election laws a felony, was made law Sept. 1, 2003. It has become a key point of contention in an indictment of Congressman Tom DeLay, accusing him of conspiring to violate a century-old ban on corporate contributions to political candidates.

Lawyers for DeLay said that before Wolens' conspiracy bill became law, the alleged crime did not exist, and the charge should be dismissed.

Do the words "No Ex-post-facto laws" mean anything to Ronnie Earle?

You see I could forgive the grand standing, I could forgive the film crew, and yes i could even forgive the grand jury shopping

but -this- is stupifying
