More Lawyers who needs to be shut down

From the same people who sued the cigarette companies( but really only took money out of the pockets of smokers and put it in their own pockets) we now see more evil tales of lawyers

Stephen Gardner, staff lawyer for the Center for Science in the Public Interest, and half a dozen other lawyers – several of them veterans of successful tobacco litigation – plan to file a lawsuit in the next few months seeking to ban sales of sugary beverages in schools.

YEs and take money out of the hands of the Soda drinking public through the lawsuit and use it to fund their own dubious pseudoscience and help their lawyers get rich. Yes these folks who in coming after smokers did a form of evil people could accept because smoking was so bad for you are now continuing their bandwagon of sticking it to the little guy and funding elite law school pitbulls.

Under Massachusetts' consumer protection law, successful plaintiffs are entitled to $25 per violation, which could mean $25 for each time a student has purchased a soda in a public high school in Massachusetts over the past four years.Although Gardner said he and the other lawyers have not yet decided whether the group will seek financial damages, they acknowledge that damages could run into the billions.

of which 40% or more will go to grotesquely large legal fees and not to any children who are allegedly harmed.

and in what name of "we know how to run your life better then you" do these vile monsters come for our money this time?

But an earlier study of young people's soft drink consumption by Dr. David S. Ludwig, director of the obesity program at Children's Hospital Boston and an associate professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, found that each additional daily serving of a sugar-sweetened beverage increased the risk of obesity by 60 percent.

No talk of what his baseline is.... no talk about ways to minimize the risk just "I am a harvard trained doctor and I know better then you so give me my grants and cuts"

and last but not least yes you are to stupid to avoid the coke machines and their evil mind control ways

The suit will also claim that the large illuminated Coke and Pepsi machines lining school halls and cafeterias are an "attractive nuisance."

While sometimes I go in with the Anti-ACLU Rhetoric, I think CSPI is the real evil out to destroy this country
